Mold and mold spores are everywhere. We no doubt inhale them every day. They are a natural part of the environment
and play and important part in the breakdown of dead plants, animals, and other
organic materials. They do become a
problem, however, when they take root and begin to grow inside homes or
businesses.
Mold produces aerosols that, if inhaled, can cause headaches,
nasal problems, allergic reactions, scratchy throats, and even respiratory
problems. In addition, mold can damage
the surfaces it clings to.
The best way to get rid of mold is to prevent it in the
first place, namely by keeping your home as dry as possible.
If you’re wondering if you have mold, it shouldn’t be had to
confirm. House mold symptoms are
obvious. If you see a fuzzy, furry
growth on your walls accompanied by an obnoxious smell, then congratulations,
you have mold (see house mold pictures to the right).
In smaller cases, a homeowner may successfully treat mold using either a bleach based solution or one of the many household mold removal solutions available on the market. In larger cases, however, when the growth is significant, you will need to contact a local MICRO certified mold remediation professional. They are available 24/7 and able to handle all of your mold remediation needs, as well as any water issues which may have provided the basis for the problem.
